Amazon's Kindle

I have used the AmaOn Kindle for a few days now and I am impressed with this cool ebook and how it performs.

what is the Kindle? It is a computer that you can use to read books with. It's form is much like a book, and the screen is a kind of black and white LCD screen without backlight. It's called e-ink.

The Kindle has a web browser, but in reality you can only use the Kindle to either buy books from Amazon or read them. Or you can spend plenty on time on the Internet to find good books for free.

The Kindle comes with a 3G connection that works many places in the world. This is nice, you can buy and download books almost anywhere in the world without having to find yourself a good wifi connection. All expenses with this 3G connection is covered by Amazon - you pay indirectly when buying books.

Do you think it is old age stuff now that the iPad is out, in true color? I think not for two reasons;

1. It is still cheaper than other competitors.
2. It is comfortable to read books on this device.

The Kindle is good for reading its own proprietary format, and not so good when reading PDFs. The reason is that pdf's are made for print and a page is displayed as a whole. I have converted some pdfs into the Mobireader format (supported by the Kindle) and most books are now readable. Images are not 100 % good, but for most techical books it is sufficient. At least for me.

Go Kindle!
